It looks like the government has once again attempted to “save” us from the “evils” of alternatively healthy foods…

Jason Ferruggia posted an article called The War on Raw Milk where he discusses a small co-op in California, Rawesome,  that was subject to an armed government raid for selling raw dairy products. If you are not familiar with raw dairy products you may think,  “well aren’t we just being protected from possible contamination and illness?”  The truth  of the matter is that raw dairy products are generally regarded as safe and MUCH more healthy than their  homogenized counterparts that lose essential nutrients through the heating and processing associated with homogenization. It seems to me that if you look around you will notice that people have become much more obese and ill following government guidelines for what is ”healthy“ i.e. plenty of whole grains, factory-raised meats , farm-raised fish and, of course, homogenized dairy products. You may disagree, but for something as imperative as one’s health, I think we should have a choice.   

The point is, we do not want one group of people deciding and defining how everyone else should eat; certainly not with our health at stake. Check out Jason Ferruggia’s post, here.
